Ivan De Menis was born in 1973 in Treviso, where he lives and works. He attended the State Art Institute in Vittorio Veneto and later studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. During his final academic year, he was selected to participate in the event 40 artists 10 galleries in Venice curated by Giovanni Bianchi with the Nuove Figure collective, thus beginning his collaboration with the San Gregorio Art Gallery. His meeting with Angela Madesani led to a collaboration that resulted in several projects, including the two group exhibitions Oltre. Otto artisti al di là dell’apparenza (Beyond. Eight artists beyond appearances) held in Bergamo in 2012 at the Spazio Manzù and in Orzinuovi (Brescia) at the Rocca San Giorgio in 2013. In 2012, he moved to Paris, where he exhibited at the Hebert Gallery, and in 2015 he arrived at the RX Gallery, where he stayed for a three-month residency, culminating in an exhibition and the start of new collaborations.

Institut d’Art Contemporain, Lyon, France (2016).
