Marcorossi artecontemporanea at Arte Fiera Bologna 2025
From February 7 to 9, 2025, the gallery presents the exhibition Intrecci di visioni. Pittura, scultura e fotografia at Pavilion 25, Booth A59.
Marcorossi artecontemporanea, a long-standing participant at the Bologna Art Fair since 1994, is pleased to present Intrecci di visioni. Pittura, scultura e fotografia, an exhibition gathering the works of seven artists who explore the connections between painting, sculpture, and photography.
The pictorial visions of Franco Guerzoni (Modena, 1948) and Marco Tirelli (Rome, 1956), both deeply rooted in conceptual art, provide the exhibition’s historical foundation. Meanwhile, younger artists Ivan De Menis (Treviso, 1973) and Valerio Berruti (Alba, 1977)—the latter represented by the gallery for over 20 years—engage with painting and sculpture, emphasizing technical experimentation and the use of often unconventional materials.
Completing the lineup are Matteo Basilè (Rome, 1974), Paolo Ventura (Milan, 1968), and Julia Fullerton-Batten (Bremen, Germany, 1970), who, in diverse ways, investigate the narrative and illusionistic potential of photography.
Arte Fiera 48: Scena Italia
Arte Fiera has traditionally been a privileged space for exploring the rich, complex, and layered Italian art scene: artists and galleries, collectors and critics, public and private institutions, education, and publishing. It encompasses the 20th-century past and contemporary research, established names, and emerging or newly rediscovered talents.
After celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024 with an edition marked by the return of major galleries, Arte Fiera moves forward with a new section dedicated to experimental artists and galleries (Prospettiva), a special hospitality program for international curators and critics, and a vibrant, pop-inspired new graphic identity.
Highlights and New Features of the 2025 Edition
The 2025 edition of Arte Fiera will host 176 galleries, with significant new additions and returning participants. Alongside them are 14 exhibitors in the publishing section and 13 in the institutions section, for a total of 203 exhibitors.
For the third consecutive year, Arte Fiera benefits from the collaboration of Simone Menegoi as Artistic Director and Enea Righi as Operational Director—a partnership that has delivered two editions (2023 and 2024) acclaimed as the best in recent years. Returning to its historical pavilions, 25 and 26, has proven a successful choice, as has the significant investment in communication, collector engagement, and strengthening ties with ANGAMC (the National Association of Modern and Contemporary Art Galleries).
The Main Section of Arte Fiera, as always divided between historical and contemporary art, is complemented by four curated and invitation-only sections:
- Fotografia e immagini in movimento (Photography and Moving Images)
- Pittura XXI (21st Century Painting)
- Multipli (dedicated to editioned works)
- Prospettiva (a new section for emerging artists represented by young or established galleries with a research-oriented program).
Additionally, the Percorso (Pathway) returns—a thematic itinerary connecting selected booths in the Main Section and curated sections. Following two editions focused on artistic media (Ceramics in 2023 and Drawing in 2024), the Percorso 2025 theme shifts to the content of the works, with “Community” as its guiding thread.
Curators of the Four Sections
- Pittura XXI has been curated by Davide Ferri, an independent critic and curator specializing in the latest generations of painters, since its inception.
- Fotografia e immagini in movimento is overseen for the third year by Gian Gavino Pazzola, curator at CAMERA – Italian Center for Photography (Turin).
- Multipli is curated for the second year by critic and art historian Alberto Salvadori.
- Prospettiva is entrusted to Michele D’Aurizio, a curator and art historian active between Italy and the United States.
