Marcorossi artecontemporanea presents Luce trattenuta, a group exhibition that brings together three Italian artists belonging to different generations and languages Riccardo De Marchi, Paolo Serra, and Marco Tirelli in an exhibition project that develops simultaneously across the gallery’s locations.
The exhibition arises from the comparison between three practices that, although profoundly different, share a rigorous investigation into form, perception, and the construction of the space of the work. A dialogue that develops between matter, light, and structure, inviting the viewer to a slow and layered reading.
The work of Riccardo De Marchi is based on an essential and radical gesture: piercing. Papers and galvanized sheets become surfaces traversed by sequences of holes that transform the support into a vibrant field, in which fullness and emptiness alternate, generating rhythm and tension.
Paolo Serra conducts a research on light and form that translates into works of great formal rigor. Through complex processes and materials such as oriental lacquer and gold leaf, he builds deep and layered surfaces, in which color reveals itself slowly.
In dialogue, the works of Marco Tirelli with a selection of polyptychs from the 1980s introduce a reflection on time and the construction of the image, where light and shadow become structural elements.
In the exhibition path, the works establish a dialogue made of subtle correspondences and calibrated contrasts, transforming the exhibition space into a place of perception and reflection.
