Elisa Grezzani, is primarily a painter. In her work process, she alternates layers of liquid color with layers of transparent resin, giving depth to her paintings and imbuing them with ambivalence. The artist prefers to work on multiple pieces simultaneously, and the constant physical movement between them becomes a fundamental part of the creative process. Her painting emerges from the composition of layers, contrasts of colors, and forms that create a play of tensions on the pictorial surface. These are always abstract, vitrified, three-dimensional landscapes that can evoke seabeds, gelatinous worlds, and places of the mind that emerge through the interaction between color and form. The materiality of oil and acrylic paint is softened by a layer of resin spread over the entire work. Thanks to its transparency, the resin creates a depth of field between the underlying colors and enhances light play on the surface of the painting, creating an atmosphere of suspension that invites contemplation.

Biography: Elisa Grezzani was born in Bressanone in 1986 and lives and works in Bolzano. She studied painting in Urbino. She has held solo exhibitions at the Museo Palais Mamming, Galleria Stefano Forni, and RLB in Lienz and has participated in group exhibitions at venues such as the Volta Art Fair in Miami and Basel, Festung Franzensfeste, Galerie an der Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, and the Marcorossi Artecontemporanea gallery. Elisa Grezzani won the HGV Prize in 2021 and was named “Artist of the Year 2021.”
