URBAN NATION BIENNALE 2019
ROBOTS AND RELICS: UN-MANNED
13 - 15 September 2019
Under the U-Bahn tracks
in front of the URBAN NATION MUSEUM FOR URBAN CONTEMPORARY ART
Bülowstraße 7 and in the streets of Schöneberg
Under the curatorial direction of URBAN NATION Director Yasha Young, in collaboration with 25 renowned artists, a unique walk-in work of art over 100 meters long is being created. The complete work consists of installations, interactive sculptures, a community wall and live performances. All positions of the UN Biennale want to create awareness for the power of the community, inform about the status quo and advocate sustainability.
For the future of urban societies and their human participation. Free of charge for all visitors, the URBAN NATION Biennale takes you into a new world worth thinking about. Each work of art is assigned to one of the 17 goals of the United Nations for sustainable development, thus sharpening visitors’ awareness of global future issues that affect us all. The artists come from diverse cultural contexts and their installations show different perspectives of the approaching future. In connection with the Biennale, a magazine will be published in which all the main themes of the exhibition will be dealt with.
