Landscape photographer Olaf Otto Becker’s interests lie in “documenting the visible traces of human overpopulation left behind in nature.” Traveling more than 275 miles on foot over Greenland’s inland ice, Becker photographed rivers of meltwater that are increasingly appearing due to global warming. Invisible throughout are black, crusty deposits—from dust and rust in the air— that together with climate change are accelerate the melting of the ice sheets.
