It seems like yesterday. #2
a Journey throughtthirty years of Contemporary art

7 November 2024 – 8 February 2025

The celebrations for the 30th anniversary of the Marcorossi artecontemporanea gallery continue with the second group exhibition, which brings together works by the artists who have contributed to the gallery’s growth over the past fifteen years. The journey continues in the city of Milan, simultaneously in the galleries of Turin and Verona.

Marcorossi artecontemporanea opened its doors in November 1994 in Milan, followed by openings in Pietrasanta in 1996, Verona in 2000, Turin in 2009, and Rome in 2023. Over the past thirty years, the gallery has promoted the work of artists chosen not only for the intrinsic value of their research but also for the quality of their works and the development of an original style, far from the trends of the moment.

To celebrate this milestone, the gallery has organized two major group exhibitions that showcase the fruits of three decades of commitment and serious work in the world of contemporary art. An original journey through different works and artistic visions that have shaped the gallery’s identity.

The first exhibition, which concluded in July, featured works by twelve artists who most strongly defined the gallery’s first fifteen years of activity: Gianfranco Asveri, Sergi Barnils, Valerio Berruti, Luca Caccioni, Tommaso Cascella, Aldo Damioli, Enzo Esposito, Giosetta Fioroni, Franco Guerzoni, Paolo Maggis, Joan Hernandez Pijuan, and Medhat Shafik.

The second exhibition continues the anniversary celebrations by showcasing another thirteen artists, those who have most influenced the gallery’s more recent path, shaping its current identity: Arcangelo, Matteo Basilé, Riccardo De Marchi, Ivan De Menis, Marco Gastini, Rune Guneriussen, Paolo Icaro, Mirco Marchelli, Hidetoshi Nagasawa, Emiliano Ponzi, The Bounty Killart, Marco Tirelli, and Paolo Ventura. The exhibition provides a significant look at the new directions the gallery has taken, particularly in sculpture and photography. Each artist is represented by significant works, exhibited across the three locations, many of which come from the gallery’s private collection.

Together, these two group exhibitions offer a unique and unprecedented opportunity to pay tribute to the gallery’s history, based on the countless and valuable artistic collaborations that have taken place over the past three decades. They will be accompanied by a volume with a text by art critic Alberto Fiz, who has followed the gallery’s evolution over the years.
