Chris Gilmour was born in 1973 in Stockport, near Manchester, in the United Kingdom, where he studied sculpture and where he still lives and works.
His works replicate a variety of objects and machines from everyday life in great detail, on a scale of 1:1, ranging from commonplace items such as bicycles, motorcycles, cars, coffeepots and chairs to little models of religious architecture, desecrated with graphics from packaging to juxtapose religious symbols with the profane icons of modern consumer life and culture.
